Complete new installation of the electrical system and KNX building automation across four storeys — in a building that is listed both inside and out.
As part of the comprehensive modernisation of a listed (heritage-protected) administration building, the technical building infrastructure was completely redesigned and implemented across four storeys.
The work comprised the complete new installation of the electrical system and intelligent building automation based on KNX. Heating, blinds and lighting were automated and made centrally controllable. The office areas received a modern DALI-controlled lighting system, integrated into the KNX system.
A special part of the project was the construction of a new lecture and conference hall. It was taken over as a bare shell and fully fitted out on a turnkey basis through to commissioning – including media technology, KNX building automation, air conditioning technology, blind control and lighting technology.
The work was carried out under the particular requirements of heritage protection for both the exterior and the interior, and called for the precise integration of modern technical systems into the historic building fabric.
